Concurrent to owning his own delivery service, Phil captains aboard “Whole
Life”, 60' Offshore M/V, hail-port Boston. Prior to Phil captained the
“Privateer IV”, triple-screw 110' tour and charter, “Privateer I”, 95' custom
charter, hail-port Seven Seas, Gloucester, MA. “Sea Song III”, 48’ Carver Motor
Yacht hailing Gloucester Harbor, MA.
Over the past 3 decades Capt. Phil then and now delivers privately-owned
vessels up and down the U.S east coast. Vessels such as 76’ Hatteras Motor
Yacht, 75’ Viking Motor Yacht.
He was co-founder of “North Star Yacht Deliveries, Inc.”, in addition to “On the
Water Training”. A state-of-the-art vessel delivery and teaching service. The
delivery service specializes in the transport of large and small yachts, power
and sail. The teaching is designed to the specific individual(s) training for a
safe and pleasurable boater operation. Visit
With boats ranging from 35’ to 125’ Capt. Phil has traveled from New England to
Florida Keys, Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway (Thousand Island area), Welland
Canal, New York Canal System, as well as the Hudson River from Lake Champlain to
New York Harbor.
Capt. Phil recruits other Captains and crew with professional experience to
assist him upon deliveries or acts as a guide/instructor to those requiring
additional hands-on experience. Moreover, Capt. Phil teaches one-on-one classes
to anyone wishing to learn basic seamanship; docking, close quarter maneuvering,
trip planning, rules of the road, coastal-navigation, etc.
Born and raised in Gloucester, MA, Captain Phil has had a lifelong love affair
for the ocean. His father owned and operated commercial fishing vessels in
Gloucester for fifty years. At the early age of thirteen Phil started commercial
fishing off the “Grand Banks” during summer vacations with his father. Upon High
School graduation for 19 years he captained several of his dad's boats such as
the “Acme”, 73’, 28’ beam, 13.5’ draft commercial dragger.
Capt. Phil adds to his achievements a talent as a marine artist. His works have
been bought and displayed in the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Mass. and
throughout the United States.
Capt. Phil is a non-smoker and nondrinker and you can always count on him being
fully capable when taking charge of your boat. He looks forward to the
possibility of providing dependable-professional customer service and a
life-time of nautical experience to you and/or your customers.
